Building on the “Charter of Goodness”: Taqaddum Launches Development Pathways in Tartus
Tartus – 13 June 2026
As part of its ongoing efforts to move beyond humanitarian assistance toward sustainable economic empowerment, the Taqaddum Center for Dialogue, Development, and Peacebuilding has launched the practical training phase of the “Nawras Textile Production and Economic Empowerment Project.” The initiative is being implemented under the umbrella of the “Charter of Goodness” Campaign and in coordination with the Local Development Office in Tartus Governorate.
The Nawras Project represents a significant evolution of the Charter of Goodness initiative, aiming to promote self-reliance and transform local capacities into genuine productive opportunities. This will be achieved through the establishment of a fully equipped textile workshop designed to support economic and social stability within the governorate.
The training program has officially commenced with the participation of 25 trainees, selected in cooperation with the Local Development Office to ensure that the project reaches those most in need. The program also reflects strong geographic inclusivity, with participants representing Tartus, Banyas, Al-Qadmous, and the surrounding rural areas.
The training is supervised by a highly experienced specialized trainer and follows a carefully designed methodology that combines theoretical instruction with practical application. The program is structured to prepare participants for professional production and competitiveness in the labor market. In addition, the workshop has been equipped with modern machinery, equipment, and raw materials to ensure high-quality training outcomes.
The Nawras Project forms part of Taqaddum Center’s broader strategy of linking economic empowerment with community peacebuilding and sustainable stability, contributing to stronger local resilience and long-term development.
