About Taqadum Center
The Taqadum Center for Dialogue, Development and Peacebuilding is an independent institution dedicated to bridging societal divides, promoting peaceful coexistence, and preventing conflicts driven by revenge, sectarianism, or regional divisions. The Center adopts a practical approach focused on mediation, community empowerment, and sustainable development planning, with the aim of strengthening social cohesion and supporting inclusive, long-term stability.
Introduction
After more than fourteen years of war and conflict, Syria continues to experience deep divisions among its diverse social components as a result of sectarian, religious, and ethnic polarization. Following the collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime on 8 December 2025, these divisions have posed a significant threat to the country’s social stability.
The absence of institutions capable of managing diversity and advancing national reconciliation risks triggering cycles of retaliatory violence, the consequences of which could extend beyond Syria’s borders, as witnessed in other regional contexts in previous decades. This reality makes peacebuilding efforts more urgent than ever, highlighting the need for initiatives that promote dialogue, social cohesion, and sustainable pathways toward lasting stability.
